Conferma's settlement technology now available to meetings and event organisers

Conferma, the expert in travel and expense reconciliation and settlement technology, has announced that ABC Connection, the online publisher of data and rich content for the hospitality community, is to integrate Event Trustee, Confermas credit-based automated invoice settlement tool, into its Request for Meetings (RfM) solution. ABCs RfM systems enable Travel Management Companies and Hotel Booking Agents to obtain fast, complete responses to meetings requests together with high quality information and images for client proposals. ABC is beta testing Event Trustee with a large travel management company and anticipates it will go live next month. Designed to better streamline costs associated with meetings and event management, Event Trustee uses a virtual card to automatically pay venues pre-agreed event costs at pre-scheduled times. It also automatically reconciles each item using the same unique virtual card number when it is booked, billed or paid for. As a result hotels and venues get paid on time reducing their exposure to financial risk and improving their cash flow. Event organisers also benefit from greater budgetary control and less time spent chasing and processing invoices. The Turner Agency partners with ABC Connection

Event management company The Turner Agency has joined ABC Connections network of channel partners, giving it 24-hour access to detailed descriptions and high quality images of thousands of venues and hotels, all searchable by name, location or capacity. Two leading education establishments, Leeds University and the University of Exeter, have signed with online publisher ABC Connection and are using the organisations technology to promote their facilities to meetings, conference and event organisers. ABC Connection facilitates HBAA initiative to help kick start empty inventories

It's not just distressed travellers across the globe who are feeling the effects of Icelands volcanic fallout. Hotels and venues have been seeing the impact with events scaled back, postponed and cancelled. As a consequence, hotel booking agencies are increasingly being asked to seek local alternative venues at short notice by their clients who are keen to get their business back to a structured working pace. As flights return to normal, the HBAA is aiming to kick start the European events economy by delivering a daily distressed inventory of hotels and venues with space and availability. The Daily Fallout Rates (DFR) will enable over one thousand HBAA partner hotel and venue companies to expedite distribution through its member agency network. Compilation and communication of the Daily Fallout Rates will be managed by the HBAAs strategic partner, online publisher ABC Connection, via its Promotion Generator tool used by the Associations members and partners. Peter Ducker, HBAA executive director said, We have seen various events cancel, including the keynote HEDNA conference in Prague, which has left spare inventory in many traditional conference destinations due to travellers not being able to get there. Despite the airports reopening the disruption for hotels will continue until after a full return to normality and traveller confidence is restored.
